School in Indiana To Be Demolished Amid Asbestos Concerns

Lowell Middle School, An Indiana school currently housed in an old building that still contained asbestos products, will finally be demolished this summer following an abatement project.

According to a recent report, the Tri-Creek School Board that the middle school is part of recently awarded a construction contract for asbestos abatement procedures, demolition, and restoration of the building to the Chicago-based Bradenburg Industrial Services Co.

Work on the school will begin in June once the school year has ended and security fencing has been put up around the area. In order to make sure students are not put in harm’s way of any potentially dangerous asbestos fibers that could escape the work site during the projects, alternative walking routes on nearby roads that do not go near the work site will be built.
